In space flights especially away from the earth, all directive methods fail and it becomes impossible to find the right direction except by depending on the stars and their locations. Stars, therefore, remain an effective directive method in the outer space no matter how developed scientific methods are. The holy Qur'an, accordingly, points out the significance of stars for guidance; Allah, the Exalted says:

“It is He Who maketh

The stars (as beacons) for you,

That ye may guide yourselves,

With their help,

Through the dark spaces

Of land and sea:

We detail Our Signs

For people who know.”       An’am: 97
