Muslims believe that the Qur’an is the Book of Allah that was
revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and that it will
continue till the Day of Judgment to admonish and guide the entire
humanity. Nowadays, many people think that since the Qur’an is in Arabic
and they do not know Arabic, it is not necessary for them to feel the
meaning and sense of the Qur’an.
In this regard, Sheikh Nouman Khan talks about the importance of
understanding the Qur’an and pondering over its verses. Everyone is
supposed to think deeply in the Qur’an and keep in mind that Almighty
Allah is talking to you as the Qur’an is the Speech of Allah. The Qur’an
itself invites us to think:
Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an that you might understand. (Yusuf 12:2)
The fundamental aim of listening, reciting, learning Tajweed, or memorizing the Qur’an is to have a better understanding of the Qur’an.
This is followed by a short talk delivered by Sheikh Mufti Menk who
talks about the majority of people who recite the Qur’an without
understanding its meaning.
Enjoy watching this interesting talk with Sheikhs Nouman Khan and
Mufti Menk to know more about our shortcoming towards the Book of Allah.
