Researchers say that eating too
much red meat increases the possibility of having cancer. They,
therefore, recommend eating a small amount of it to be healthy.
Scientists confirm that the world consumption of meat is about 283
million tons annually. They add that producing one kilo of meat requires
40,000 liters of water (to water the grass that’s eaten by the cattle).
Not eating too much meat also helps preserve the environment from
pollution and global warming that result from the gas released by the
cattle. Scientists, therefore, warn against eating too much meat. It
might be surprising that the holy Qur'an has preceded scientists in such
warning; Allah, the exalted says in the holy Qur’an:
“O Children of Adam! wear your
beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: but
waste not by excess, for God loveth not the wasters.”A’raf: 7: 31
