God be he exalted says: (When the sun is wound round and its light is lost and is overthrown)[Surat At-Takwir, verse: 1].
The Explanation of the Verse:
The
verse talks about a universal fact which is the end of the sun, stars,
mountains and seas. As the sun which we see nowadays shiny and bright,
one day it will wound round and its fuel will be consumed and lost and
it will vanish like all the creatures and nothing will remain except
God. The commentators say: (When the sun is wound round) means that if the light of the sun is gone and lost.
The Scientific Fact:
After
the great development in astronomy, it was discovered to scientists
that the sun burns its fuel at the rate of 4 million tons per second.
And by the time it will consume its fuel and turn into a star that
scientists call "The Red Giant" and then it will shrink itself and turn into another star called by scientists "The White Dwarf" and after that it will die slowlyand its light is lost and overthrown.
The Point of Inimitability:
The
scientific miracle of Quran here occurs in talking about the end of the
sun at a time no one was aware of this as God be he blessed and exalted
says: (When the sun is wound round and its light is lost and is overthrown).
All the commentators said that one day the sun will disappear and its
light is lost, and this is confirmed by all astronomers.
