Taking
care of useful animals such as horses; Prophet Mohammad, PBUH, said that
good will remain (as a permanent quality) in the foreheads of horses.
This hadith tells us that we should take care of horses and other useful
animals for man. Prophet Mohammad, PBUH, also prohibited killing and
torturing animals, so he asserted in the noble hadith that “a woman was
doomed to hell because she imprisoned a cat for she didn’t give the cat
food or drink nor did she free it to eat the insects of the earth.” This
hadith teaches us the importance of taking care of animals and not
causing their death as well as the necessity of treating them kindly.
Besides, Allah, the exalted talks about the significance of the
creatures around us and says that everything in this universe glorifies
him and celebrates his praise; Allah says in the holy Qur'an:
“The seven heavens and the earth, and all beings therein, declare His glory: There is not a thing
but celebrates His praise; and yet ye understand not
how they declare His glory! Verily He is oft-Forbearing, Most
Forgiving!” Isra’a: 17: 44
Accordingly, all creatures glorify Allah and
celebrate his praise and the above verse points out that the creatures
around us have a value and that they are not to be hurt or abused
because they worship Allah, the great and celebrate his praises.
